The bane of spellcasters, float leeches tend to live in swamps and marshes with high humidity and large canopies. Float leeches tend to drift through their environments, seeking magical energy to absorb, their only source of sustenance. Though not intelligent, float leeches will drift away if death seems imminent, using their air sacs to seek cover beyond the tree tops. Float leeches are often attracted to areas where magic items are nearby, especially ruins and magically infused dungeons. They are also known to cohabitate with hags for reasons that are unknown.
