Potion of the Poppy
*Potion of the Poppy first appeared in Sandbox Adventurers #6 Monster at the End of the Nightmare
Potion, uncommon This potion has a thick, viscous feel and tastes like a watered-down creamed mushroom soup. Just a few minutes after consuming, you feel a wave of euphoria and any sorrows or hardships you’re facing fade from memory. For eight hours, you gain the following: · 2d4 Temporary hit points · Advantage on rolls against being frightened · Resistance to psychic damage · -2 Wisdom If you take an additional dose of the potion while the effects of the first dose are still active, you must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or fall asleep for 1d4 hours – the DC increases by 2 for each additional dose you consume. The effects of the potion do not stack with multiple doses. When the effects of the potion wear off, you sink into a depression that lasts 1d8 hours. For every dose you’ve consumed (up to a maximum of 4), you must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking one level of exhaustion on a failure. At the DM’s discretion, if you’ve suffered a great deal of trauma in your life, you make these saving throws with disadvantage.
