Anders shivered as he took first watch, despite the heavy furs he wore over his leather armor and the small fire he was able to keep from being extinguished in the wind. His companions, Zanari, Flaerenin, and Emblethicket were huddled together in their makeshift shelter. The night was extremely cold, and no matter what he did, the wind bit through his layers with ease. His eyes went wide as he remembered the potion he'd received from the sheriff - and he fetched it from his bag. The bottle was warm to the touch and when he uncorked it, the aroma of a fresh-baked berry pie reached his nostrils. He drank the magical concoction, feeling warmth settle quickly into all his limbs as the syrupy, mead-like liquid went down. He smiled as he finished drinking it, feeling as content as if he'd just finished feasting and was now resting comfortably, and warmly, in front of a crackling fireplace.
A potion with a thick, syrupy consistency almost like a mead, the Hearth Potion is slightly warm to the touch and tastes and smells like mild berries. It's not too sweet and not too tart. After consuming the potion, the imbiber will stay very comfortably warm even in subzero temperatures and will not need to eat during that time as they will feel nourished and rested. The effects last for eight hours.
