ALIVE INSIDE: Development Update

"Motorcycle Duo" by Pawel Parol
It's been two months since we first announced ALIVE INSIDE, our very first original RPG system! So what's been happening? A lot, actually!
For the last few months, I've been working hard drafting the QuickStart guide for ALIVE INSIDE, a post-apocalyptic survival horror RPG system. At this stage, I have written more than 22,000 words, making up about 55 pages of text. My goal is to publish the QuickStart page at about 64 pages though it's likely to exceed that at this stage. Here are the parts I've finished writing:
Character Creation (Professions, Passions, Defining Events, Leveling Up, Talent Tree and Talent Mechanics, Starting Equipment)
New Gameplay Mechanics (Stress Checks, Breaking Point Table, Carrying Capacity, Weight Limit, and Encumbrance)
Quick Aside

And here are the parts I've started writing:
Monster Stat Blocks
Equipment and Equipment Mechanics
Basic Roleplaying Guidance and Mechanics
Scavenging Tables

Sample Page, Subject to Change
At this stage, I've completed a significant amount of "mathematical playtesting" but now we're entering the stage where I'll begin some actual playtesting with a group if gamers. At the time of this writing, the first playtest session will be this evening with Joe (community manager), Frank (copy editor), Ana (website deisgner), Derek (longtime playtester), and Chloe (my wife).
The game session will begin two days after the societal collapse following a zombie pandemic. They survivors were all attending a community meeting in a State of Vermont office building and are now out of food and water. They'll need to use their wits, the little resources they have, and hopefully have some luck as they attempt to collect supplies, evade the undead, and come up with a plan to survive! After we do a couple of playtesting sessions, I'll share a little about how it's going.
